A Voice in Public Affairs
One of the most beneficial aspects of being a member of the New Mexico Trucking Association is strengthing the influence of the New Mexico trucking industry at the State level.
It is of great importance that the public, legislators and state officials have an clear understanding of the State's trucking industry and the potential ramifications that legislative and administrative action will have.
Our role is to be a ready source of accurate information about the New Mexico trucking industry and business environment. We make sure that decision makers are well informed and understand the trucking industry's position on critical issues. Our vigilance protects the trucking industry and benefits the State by helping to steer legislative actions.

The focus of our efforts are:
Information Clearing House
The Association serves as a clearinghouse for all kins of information about the highway transportation industry and general business, providing an exclusive service not otherwise available to members. We maintain a reference and research center including loanable film and video materials. We also coordinate with American Trucking Associations and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to make sure the latest information is available to members.
American Trucking Association Affiliated
NMTA is affiliated with American Trucking Associations, the National Trucking
Industry Authority. Activities, programs, and events created and sponsored
by ATA are available to the New Mexico Trucking Association.
Business Advantages
Many of our Allied members offer a wide variety of discounts, special packages, and free consultations to NMTA members. We are also working to expand membership advantages through new arrangements in telecom, medical, truck, tire and trailer companies.

Education
The Association sponsors or co-sponsors seminars on a wide variety of subjects
including: safety, hazardous materials, business management, drug and alcohol
issues, credential information, and financial management.
In conjunction with the Safety Management Council, we keep members informed
on fleet safety, equipment, and shop operations.
Video Library
NMTA also has a significant lending library of videos and reference material. This is available to members as needed.
Insurance
A discount on various types of insurance may be availalbe from member insurance agency. Also membership in NMTA may influence your insurance carrier to look favorably on your insurance premiums.
Supplies

The Association is the only distributor in New Mexico for J.J. Keller and
Associates. NMTA has on hand most of the supplies necessary for transportation
administation. These include: driver safety and hazardous material manuals,
log books, medical exam forms, cars, etc.
All are available at a discount for members.
